Fatal Contingencies By: Shelby_Painter Book Review

This review is everywhere, I apologize.

Book two of this series was a slight let down, but I loved it anyways. Writing Decency is a 3!

The book just felt really compacted with drama, and it felt like it should have continued as part of the first book. Now I know that would make the first book even more drama filled, but they’re both so short! If they were both expanded and gave more scenes and insight then I could see them as separate books, but as of now it feels like an easy add on to the first book.

I loved this book though. I loved how Alyssa ran away to get some closure from her past. She’s finally done running and is ready to make a home and it feels so good! Everything is playing out for her to have her life finally. She even gets to run a business!! (I am annoyed that Daimon hasn’t stopped her from pole dancing. I don’t understand why he hasn’t made her stop again?) Alyssa was just extremely kick butt throughout this book (except the fight scene, that was weak). We saw her handle all of Daimon's work and do amazing at it, and we saw her be super sassy throughout the whole book.

I’m really confused why they didn’t put effort in to find her father. If they found her dad and told him that his old beta was attempting to kill her and make kids with her, I’m sure he would kill him. I believe that he left her behind because he didn’t want her to grow up in the werewolf world, because he knew how the wolves would react to her and want her. I definitely need to see him come out in the last book to kick some butt.

Now onto annoying Stacey. Look, I get it. Her life was tore to pieces and I feel so bad for her and Daimon, but the suicidal breakdown trying to blame Daimon was not okay. That was such a jerk move, and I am so glad that they are getting her some help for the trauma.

The thoughts Daimon had during the suicidal fight made me want to bust his nose up. The way he was thinking of Alyssa as not needing him or loving him like Stacey does had me fuming. Alyssa is a darn good woman allowing him to up and disappear to sort his crap out. He needs to appreciate her and care for her the correct way.

I am extremely curious about the secret Daimon is keeping from Alyssa. COULD IT BE THAT THEY'RE MATES?!?!

Kendrick! The issue with Kendrick is he feels like he was just randomly thrown into the book. He was forgotten about a lot of the time, and when he was remembered it was like the author just remembered he existed too. I did enjoy him though, and I’m hoping we’ll see a relationship grow between Daimon and him but that seems impossible in book 3 so I don’t know.

I love that Alyssa chewed into the pack and Daimon, and that we finally got to see a bond. In book one no one was really mentioned besides Easton and Toby and now we discovered that she talked with everyone. This is why the relationships she built in book 1 need to be expanded more, so that we can feel that pain of everyone choosing Stacey instead of just the select few.

ALYSSA IS PREGNANT! Yes! I knew she would be, it’s the common theme in werewolf books and one of my babies. I am hoping beyond all hope that her baby makes it out of book 3 alive and well and happy with its mom and dad. I need Daimon to find out and become in love with the baby as well.

I loved Ash to death!! He’s so sweet and cute and absolutely one of my favorite characters. I am currently refusing to believe anyone is dead except for the guy she saw get shot in the head.

My mind is a bit everywhere at the moment, because I just really really wanna start book 3 NOW, so I’m gonna call this messy review done and get to it! Overall Wattpad rating is a 7-8!
