I feel so warm and gushy inside. This book was such a joy to read. Man I love Mike Madden. *dreamy sigh*
I loved this book even more than Chaos, which is surprising because I really enjoyed Chaos. In this book we got to know the male character a bit more. We learned how absolutely perfect Mike is, and we saw him connect with her and her little brother. He is the absolute best and no one can beat him in this band to me.
Watching them play video games all night, ask loads of pointless questions, get the dog, their firsts..everything, goodnights, every little bit of the two of them was adorable.
Hailey was literally Cinderella. That ugly step sister line was GOLD. I was constantly stressed about her absolute tool of a cousin. Man I just wanted Danica to disappear so badly! I love that Hailey hit her with all that info and a broken nose! Completely bada$$!
Her uncle is such a good man. I was imagining him evil because his daughter is evil. It reminds me of someone I know whose Dad will go with whatever they say whether right or wrong. Parents have to teach their children right and wrong, and they shouldn’t pamper them into believing they own the world. How anyone could have ever like Danica is wild to me.
I hated how much Danica put down Hailey. Especially while Mike was touring, because she was left with no actual reassurances. It was obvious Danica knew about the two of them by how much she discussed him, and from how ‘nice’ she was acting. Key word, acting.
I do wish the drama scenes were a little more played out instead of being brushed away fast, but if they weren’t I might have exploded from the tension.
5 stars for this fabulous book. Such a fun, happy, awesome standalone!
P.S.: This quote killed me. I am the girls sleeping on the streets unfortunately.
"While I spent the night in Mike's arms, fans slept on the
concrete sidewalk outside this building waiting to see him play..."
