Walking Disaster By: Jamie McGuire
Book Review
This one I reread via audiobook. The speaker of this audiobook was fine as a male, but when he spoke as a female however I cringed. It was absolutely horrible! It took me out of the story every time.
I enjoyed this story a lot more than Beautiful Disaster, which is funny because when I read them both all those years ago I hated this one and loved Beautiful Disaster.
I stand with my statement from the Beautiful Disaster review that Abby is annoying. Even from Travis’s POV. Honestly how he keeps up with her pettiness and bishiness is astounding. This book made me like Travis even more, while also being annoyed at his way of somehow using girls while he was head over heels for Abby.
The one thing I did not enjoy about this book was the epilogue. That is crazy, because I love epilogues! This one no thank you. I did not get how they went from being up each other’s butts to Travis spending the past eleven years lying to Abby and spending weeks at a time away from her. Really unrealistic to the way they were portrayed throughout the story.
I’m going to try to erase Travis’s job from mind and essentially everything about the epilogue except the kids.
Overall I’d give this a 3(?) as well. It’s difficult because I know I loved them in the past, and I enjoyed reading it, but I’m not obsessed and it’s not perfect.
