Book Review
This book took me a lot longer than Angelfall to read. That’s essentially because I would put it down every five seconds after noticing Raffe wasn’t in it yet. Man I truly hate the whole, ‘sequels are when the couple separates and gets together at the end’ clicheness. That part in series always gets me heated.
Even though it took me forever to pick up the book each time, I did enjoy it a lot. Angelfall is my favorite out of the two, but this was a decent companion.
My heart hurt so much every time Penryn wouldn’t behave sisterly towards Paige. I get that she’s creepy, but she’s your sister! Ugh, especially when the doctor mentioned she must be in extreme pain.
The resistance were idiots burying all the people they did. They ask for information from Penryn but don’t care to actually listen.
We got a lot of knowledge in this book.
-We saw a lot of flashbacks of Raffe.
-We still aren’t sure if Paige can eat raw meat, but I’m still guessing she can.
-The kids being made to look like Nephilim was confirmed.
-We know what the scorpions are and why they were made.
-We got some of Paige’s torture background.
-We also know that there is something special about Paige that controls the scorpions.
I loved the entire story about the sword and how it feels things. Bless it’s heart being stuck with Pooky Bear as a name.
The reunion between Raffe and Penryn was not as dramatic as I hoped, but their banter was a 120% out of 100%. The eye contact was intense but I felt like more was needed. Especially at the sobbing scene. I love that Raffe broke down crying, but it felt like it was placed in there as an after thought, or that the author didn't want to go into detail about it.
I hope the peanut butter reference is obvious. Absolutely amazing scene, I couldn't stop laughing at Raffe!
UMMM. THE SWORDS BOWING DOWN WAS EPIC.
Raffe finally got his wings off Beliel in the end! Watching Paige kick his butt was amazing, and I can not wait for Raffe to have his wings on him again.
I’m nervous to read the third book because I can not imagine a good satisfying ending. No way is it looking like Penryn and Raffe will be staying together, and I want that! How is the world going to right itself after everything? Will the angels in the pit finally be let free? Will they forgive Raffe?
There are so many questions that need to be answered and I am scared of all of them.
Okay I’m gonna start the last book now! 4.7 out of 5, so basically 5 stars!
